digging the hip chalkboard paint

an easy, inexpensive way to spruce up your home is with chalkboard paint.

it’s great for kids, obviously, but i’m also talking about chic, cool ideas for decorating. here is my chalkboard paint for our kitchen pantry doors.  i took a barefoot contessa cookbook and had my nephew use his design, architect handwriting to write words from recipes.

i had him do the same for the kitchen cut-out but use the all-important cocktail words:

here are some other funky ways to use chalkboard paint. click on the picture to enlarge.

all links and credits to all pictures, you can get here at my pinterest board.  the last photo i took at a great crepe place in san francisco that i can’t remember the name!

happy labor day!  go paint something chalky.

I love this idea! I’m so glad I saw your kitchen in person – what you did with chalkboard paint is so fun and looks awesome. I’m adding chalkboard paint to my shopping list – now I just have to decide where to paint. Any ideas?

thanks lori! i think the kitchen is a great place to use the paint or i like the idea of getting old old mirror or picture frame and painting the inside and hanging it up. I’m also wanting to paint a portion of our bathroom wall so we can write some inspirations up there! XXOO
